Parents’ view on distance learning during lockdown. A national survey

During the COVID-19 emergency, between March and May 2020, Italy was in an almost complete lockdown situation millions of Italian children all ages, overnight, stopped going to school started receiving telematic communications from teachers or educators. Lockdown distance learning had a significant impact on overall well-being parents students this study represents contribution deepen understanding parents’ perceptions observations it. The exploratory cross-sectional quantitative research project data gathered through structured computer-assisted web survey, administered right after total lockdown, 19th June 2nd, reaching out 6.905 9.802 primary secondary (5-18 year old children). offered clear picture conditions which occurred during months reliably detected stressful for many families adolescents. Results highlight weaknesses learning, lacking crucial functions that constitutively distinguishes “in-person” school, socio-cultural protection, parental support, social arena.
